Dying Without a Will (intestate)

Dying without a will causes problems for those left behind especially in the case of second marriages:

  • Under age children become the responsibility of the Local Authority.

  • A married spouse only inherits everything if there are no children.

  • If there are children a married spouse may not inherit enough..

  • Children inherit in equal shares (no account is made of life time gifts).

  • Disputes cause delay and expense and bitterness.

  • If there are under age children of a former marriage their surviving parent may control the assets the children have inherited. This can be avoided.

Writing a Will is not a problem. Dying without a Will is.
